The City of Georgetown does not own or operate our own disposal service, nor do we contract with any disposal company. Garbage haulers wishing to do business in the City of Georgetown must first obtain a license issued by the city council. The license shall be granted only upon proper application to the city clerk and payment of a non-refundable license fee of $300.00.
Georgetown residents and businesses must have an adequate number of garbage receptacles to sufficiently accommodate the amount of garbage generated by the premises. Garbage in bags may not be placed for pickup without first being placed in either a metal or plastic container with a lid.
