No matter what the season, there is always something going on in the City of Georgetown.  Keeping our residents informed of scheduled events and local happenings is important.

Vietnam Veteran's Parade

Begins: 4/26/2025 - 2:00 pm
Ends: 4/26/2025

Mark your calendars! April 26th we are planning an important event.
With this year being the 50th anniversary of the end of the war in Vietnam, we are happy to announce that our veterans will be receiving the welcome home that they deserved, but never received.
We are starting with a parade that will go from the Fairgrounds to the High School. Where we will then have a presentation. There will be multiple government officials to help us with this event.

• Russell Lodge #154 Masons
• Fall in Fridays
• Veterans Assistance Commission of Vermilion County
• Georgetown Auxiliary American Legion

These groups are all working together to make this an event worth remembering. We would love to see you all come out and celebrate these men and women that sacrificed so much and got back so little.
In the weeks leading up to this event, we will be hosting a few raffles to raise money towards this event. Please stay tuned for details on these raffles and your chance to win big, while helping us all make a difference.

Water Bill Due Date

Begins: 5/5/2025 - 8:00 am
Ends: 5/5/2025 - 4:30 pm

Water bills are due May 5, 2025.  If you pay after May 5th there will be a 10% penalty added.  Pay on our website or drop in the drop box 24/7.  The drive up window and lobby are open Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.  

City Council Meeting

Begins: 5/5/2025 - 7:00 pm
Ends: 5/5/2025

There will be a city council meeting at 7 pm on Monday, May 5 at the Georgetown City Hall.  The public is welcome to attend.  The agenda will be posted under the government tab and Meeting agendas, FY 2025-26.

Water Shut off

Begins: 5/13/2025 - 8:00 am
Ends: 5/13/2025 - 4:30 pm

Water Shut off day is May 13.  You must pay your bill by 4:30 on Monday, May 12 to avoid the $40 Non Payment Fee.  If you are paying after 4:30 on May 12, you MUST include the $40 NPF or your water will be shut off.  

City Council Meeting

There will be a city council meeting at 7 pm on Monday, May 19 at the Georgetown City Hall.  The public is welcome to attend.  The agenda will be posted under the government tab and meeting agenda, FY 2025-26.

Memorial Day

Begins: 5/26/2025 - 8:00 AM
Ends: 5/26/2025 - 5:00 PM

The City Hall, Streets & Alley, and Water & Sewer Departments will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
