Murals of Georgetown Past

In early 2016, a few residents approached the Planning Commission requesting murals be painted on local buildings to reflect Georgetown's past. The City Council approved the project and donations started arriving quickly. Georgetown resident artist, Mike Harper, agreed to paint the murals.

The Mural Committee held several fundraisers, including publishing a cookbook of recipes and memories from current and former residents, Georgetown Memories and Recipes. They also published a 2017 calendar, Georgetown Past & Present. By summer the Mural Committee had raised money for six murals.

The City of Georgetown is proud of our past and hope you enjoy the murals and all they represent.
