Meter Reading
All water meters are read on a monthly basis. We do not estimate water usage. Water meters are read on the 9th of the month. If the 9th falls on a weekend or holiday, meters are read the day before the weekend or holiday.
The City of Georgetown uses a vehicle reading system that reads water meters by a high-powered radio frequency transmitter as our public works employees drive through the city. The meter communicates with a laptop computer and the information is sent to and from the data collection system for billing.
Billing
Water and sewer customers are billed by mail each month. Bills are mailed on or around the 15th of the month, with payments due by the 5th of the next month. If the 5th falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment will be due the next business day. Payments not received by 4:30 pm on the due date are subject to 10% penalty. Payments not received by the Shut Off date are subject to $40.00 penalty and water shut off.
Payment Options
The City of Georgetown offers a variety of convenient payment options for our residents. Simply choose the option that best suits your needs.
